In an attempt to merge two of my favorite things (insects & ceramics), the bug mug collection was born.
This gardenia bee hawk moth mug is handbuilt and sculpted using white stoneware. The insect is decorated with underglaze and a clear glaze layered on top. The piece is fired in a kiln to full vitrification and thus is food-safe. The materials used are dishwasher/microwave safe, though this ceramic critter is fragile, so handle with care.
